This is the month the traditional Mayas have been awaiting for nearly 520 years! They have been silent for centuries. During the month of March in 1995, the Mayan Council will begin to share the ancient knowledge of the cosmos along with the heritage of their starry culture with the world once again.
Kukulkan has four equal sides which represent the four directions. On each side of this pyramid is 9 large steps that remind us of the 9 hell cycles from which we are emerging. On the face of these 9 large steps are 26 notches on either side of the stairway. When you add up the notches on both sides (26+26) you discover 52 notches which represents the length of each hell cycle and also represents the synchronization of earth with the Pleiades (52 Years). This number 52 is also a reminder of the larger K'altun cycle, the 520 years of hell or darkness. On each of its four sides Kukulkan has a stair case that has 91 steps and when added together equals 364 days in the solar year. When you count the top platform your have 365 with represents the 365 days in the earth calendar, Haab. On the very top of the pyramid there were 5 "G" symbols on all fours sides and when you add these 5 symbols on four sides together you have the 20 suns "the measure" or "the body" of the sacred calendar. These are the cycles of time on Earth. On the equinoxes something magical happens with Kukulkan. We are allowed to see the nonphysical or spirit of the calendar! Two days a year a phenomena manifesting as a shadow undulates up the stone stairs of the pyramid creating 7 pyramidal shadows. These seven shadows are the representation of our chakras and our ancient connection with the Pleiades. This is the ancient connection between the stars and the stones. This is the missing link between the earth and the cosmos. Seven cycles of 20 suns bring us to the center movement of the sacred calendar. This is the axis of the creative spirit. The number seven is also the center movement of the 13 sacred numbers used to create movement that manifests the universe as we know it. This is "the movement" or "the spirit" of the sacred calendar. When you multiply 7 times the four sides you also have a representation of the moon cycle of 28 days! In Tibetan tradition Lamas perform a rite called Kalachakra. It is suggested that this ceremony instills peace in surrounding geographical areas. Part of this ritual is the creation of an intricate mandala painting using different colored sands. This process take several days. When finished this painting looks suspiciously like a aerial view of the pyramid Kukulkan. Once complete it is wiped away and the energy is sent back to spirit. The Tibetans call this particular sand painting the wheel of time. Kukulkan teaches about cycles of time. Thus an auspicious connection is formed between two seemingly different cultures. An ancient Mayan prophesy states that a man from the east would come to the Mayaland wearing the colors of Hunab K'u (yellow and red) to help awaken and activate humanity into cosmic remembrance. The Maya believe these are the Lamas from Tibet. This March 21st history is being fulfilled and prophesies being realized just as the Mayas predicted. The Mayan council , and Mayan Elder, Hunbatz Men, are asking humanity to participate in this event. We can join in spirit with the Mayan council at the first light of the equinox Sun. The Mayas ask that we pray in front of the rising Sun. Pray for the awakening of humanity and the awakening of our own eternal being. Pray for the healing of the planet. Visualize in detail the new reality you envision, while allowing for the creator to fulfill our dreams beyond our wildest imagination. It is a new dawn, a new beginning to commit to being a cosmic human. Remember and sing your perfect note in the song of the earth garden. It is time to stretch our wings and allow the possibility of a future that fulfills our destiny as ascended, totally universal, cosmic beings. The Maya have waited in silence for 520 years to remind us of this knowledge. Mayan Elder Hunbatz Men understands that being Mayan is more than the color of the skin. It is something in the heart and spirit that determines our Mayan-ness, our Pleiadian-ness. It is time to reclaim our ancient futures! Aluna Joy Yaxk'in . . .
